I just had to post this TED talk by Sir Ken Robinson as it resonated with one of the main things I have always told my daughters. If you love what you do in life it won’t be work – it will be fun. Make sure what you choose to do is something you love. Don’t let anyone else choose your future for you.

One of my favorites – I’ve watched it over and over again. I still laugh at “Frank sent this” His message has had a big impact on conversations of how education will look for our daughter and any future children. Love it.

This part was my favorite, talking about people who have jobs that they absolutely love:
“It isn’t what they do it’s who they are.”
I think it’s a tragedy that so few people are able to take the time to get to know who they truly are inside. Early on they get caught up in endlessly chasing the carrot that society has set out for them and spend the rest of their life doing the same routine.
They don’t even have a shot at doing the job they love because they don’t even understand what their own passions are.
Things are changing though…the internet and emerging technologies are freeing more and more people every day :). Anyway loved this video, I thought the mix of wisdom and humor was perfect.
